Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk provided a cryptic hint about a forthcoming car model on Twitter Wednesday evening.
The serial entrepreneur, investor and inventor posted an image revealing the bottom of a vehicle behind an opening garage door stamped with the date Oct. 9, adding: "About to unveil the D and something else."
The Palo Alto, Calif. electric automaker is already busy developing the Model X sports utility vehicle and has revealed plans to deliver a $35,000 electric vehicle, variously called the Model E and Model 3.
Perhaps Tesla has changed the name of that vehicle again — or perhaps something else entirely is in the works.
We'll learn for sure next Thursday.
